Hairdressing language

Confused with all the jargon?

You are not the only one for sure. Balayage, Babylights, T-section, Ombre, Easy Lights? It’s all a bit confusing.

Are you the kind of person who searches on Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration, saves images on your phone and shows it to your hairdresser? Great. Inspiration is good and it totally helps with the consultation. Even though it can be hard to unpick someone else’s work.

The best advice I can offer you is to bring a few pictures for a consultation and let us worry about the technique we will use to create a personal and bespoke look just for you. Our aim is to make you fall in love with your hair and leave our salon feeling fabulous.

On a personal note, it’s been amazing for me during lockdown to focus my free time on my education and I’ve loved learning new techniques. Being forced to stop can sometimes affect your confidence, but now I up and running again, I know I am able to offer you an even better service. After so many years of hairdressing, you would think I have nothing more to learn, but there are always new products, new tools and new styles to master.

I always like to try to find some positives in every situation. What have you gained during lockdown?
